Science Development Foundation staff attended Times Higher Education Summit

Senior consultant Laman Huseynbayli and Lead consultant Parvin Rahimli of the Science Development Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan attended the ““Times Higher Education” Research Excellence Summit - Eurasia” that was held in Kazan city of the Tatarstan Republic of Russian Federation in 29-31 august.

Having its headquarters in London, “Times Higher Education (THE)” is a well-known weekly journal specialized at higher education and study news, which reveals annual rankings of the world universities based on the researches and data analysis.

Taking place at the Kazan Federal University for 3 days, the main motto of the Summit was "Uniting East and West in an emerging world research and innovation hub." The event was attended by representatives of the well-renowned Cambridge, Leicester, York, SOAS, John Hopkins and other universities, as well as representatives of various governmental bodies from Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States. Many different issues covered in the Summit included new educational initiatives, support for scientific research, the future of innovation an technology in the Silk Road, assessment of higher education as a leading force in regional development. Numerous panel discussions were held on vast topics such as new opportunities for research impact, and support for world-class research. The Times Higher Education Eurasia University ranking has also been revealed at the event.

The Science Development Foundation on its way to establish new partnerships with THE, the main organizer of the event. The activity of the Science Development Foundation, as well as the "Science-Education Integration" and "University Grant" competitions were discussed in the meetings and possible cooperation opportunities has been reviewed.
