Science Development Foundation is involved in the Global Research Council activities

In order to strengthen international relations Executive Director of the Science Development Foundation Elchin Babayev has participated in the 6th Annual Meeting of the Global Research Council - GRC that took place at May 29-31, in Ottawa, Canada. The Global Research Council is a virtual organization, comprised of the heads of science and engineering funding agencies from around the world, dedicated to promoting the sharing of data and best practices for high-quality collaboration among funding agencies worldwide. Science Development Foundation is represented in the activities of the Global Research Council starting 6th Annual Meeting. Local organizers of the 6th Annual Meeting were Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and Consejo Nacional de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación Tecnológica of Peru (CONCYTEC). The following topics were discussed:

  • Enhancing of the existing relationships between organizations and across the international research funding community and coordination work;
  • The dynamic interplay between fundamental research and innovations.

Over 100 delegates attended the Annual Meeting, including more than 50 Heads of Research Councils (HORCS), as well as high-ranking guests participating from various countries, to share best practice and discuss research funding policy issues. GRC European Regional meeting was held within the framework of 6th Annual Meeting. Science Development Foundation is involved in the activities of the European Regional Branch of GRC since 2015.
