SDF hosted a meeting with the winners of the Azerbaijan-Russia 1st Grant Competition

On July 2, 2018, a seminar and presentation meeting was held with the winners of the 1st Azerbaijan-Russia (AzRus-1) grant competition at the Science Development Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The competition was held in accordance with the Foundation's Action Plan.

Opening the event, Executive Director of the SDF Elchin Babayev congratulated the winners of the grant competition. He mentioned that such competitions would be held periodically and in richened format.

The winners of the competition are project managers and executives representing various government agencies and higher education institutions from both countries. All the winning projects serve fundamental-applied scientific purposes. Winning projects include 9 projects on physics, mathematics and technical sciences, 4 projects on chemistry, 3 projects on Earth Sciences, 3 projects on biology, medicine and agrarian science and one project on humanitarian and social sciences. Duration of the projects is 24 months. Project financing ranges from 60-185,000 manats.

Total financing of the winning projects on the competition is 2.630.000 manats. The winning projects will be funded starting from the second half of 2018.

The meeting also provided advice and recommendations on the management of grant projects, the preparation of a set of documents for the legal registration and financing of projects, the terms of the agreement signed between the Science Development Foundation and project managers as well as the most optimal solution of financial reporting issues.
