Archeological researches continued in the summer of 2017 by the Mil-Karabakh expedition of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of ANAS in Khojavand region.

Head of Archaeological Group, PhD in history Tavakkul Aliyev informed about agrochemical research in Nargiztepe and surrounding areas. He said that the first researches in Nargiztepe, which is located in the foothills of Karabakh's Mil hill, began in 2013. In the years 2014-2015, with the support of the Science Development Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, investigations have become more intensive.

According to him, more than 300 graves were recorded in the area during the recent studies and their topographic plan was removed. Some gravestones were stamped with various marks and stamps, engraving patterns. From the 13th to the 14th centuries, epigraphic texts on headstones were engraved in Arabic language with Arabic graphics.

T. Aliyev noted that Nargiztepe is a monument to the whole of Azerbaijan's history. Albania, the ancient state of Azerbaijan, can be traced with all the shades of both ancient and medieval history. Archeological researches in Nargiztepe once again confirm the succession of the ancient Azerbaijani population in cultural life and outlook.
